Our Planning Process
Phase 1: Initial Phase
Step 1: We Organize Your Financial Picture
We start by getting to know you... your values, your goals, and your dreams. Maybe you want to pay for your children’s education, purchase a home, launch your own practice, or simply make sure you won’t outlive your money in retirement. Whatever it is, we prioritize it and we plan for it.
Step 2: We Discuss Family & Asset Threats
What if you lost your job? What if you become responsible for aging parents? We plan for all these what-if scenarios, so you can make informed decisions when the time comes.
Step 3: We Build A Systematic Savings Plan
We focus on the discipline and habit that creates financial freedom—controlling your ability to save money at a high level. We teach our clients to save at least 20% of their income.
Step 4: We Share Our Investment Philosophy
We educate each of our clients on the drivers of market returns, risks, and strategies to control them. We ensure your investment philosophy values diversification, minimizes your tax burden, and prioritizes your risk tolerance.
Step 5: We Help Craft Your Ideal Retirement
What does your ideal retirement look like? Whether you want to start a passion project, spend more time with your grandchildren, or travel the world, we help you plan for it.
Step 6: We Implement Our Recommended Changes
We implement the recommended changes and measure the impact of our work in our short time together.
Step 7: We Review Your Situation and Update Your Plan Accordingly
As things change in your life we adapt your strategy. Common changes we help clients with include: marriage, children, new jobs, new homes, moving to new states, and many more.
Phase 2: Impact Phase
Step 1: We Implement Your Investment Plan
We implement your personalized investment solution based on the information you give us in Phase 1. We give you access to your investments so you can check in on your progress whenever you’d like.
Step 2: We Measure Your Impact
Think of Step 2 as your bi-annual financial physical. We meet at least once every six months to check in on your progress. If adjustments need to be made, we move on to Step 3.
Step 3: We Adjust Your Financial Plan
As your financial plan drifts off course (which it will from time-to-time), we make adjustments to get you back on track. Whether you're buying a house, going back to school, or moving across the country, we work closely with you to make sure your financial plan remains aligned with your values and goals.
